MONSOON XT GEN.2 TACTICAL RAIN JACKET
Staying dry in pouring rain driven by heavy wind can be almost impossible unless you have the right gear. That’s why we made the Monsoon XT Gen.2 Tactical Rain Jacket. It’s designed and built from the ground up to shield you from severely inclement weather. Thanks to all we put into it, the Monsoon XT Gen.2 is a tactical rain jacket that’ll be there for you when you need it most.
THE MOST RELIABLE GEAR FOR WEATHER PROTECTION.
Durable and comfortable weather protection starts with an excellent laminate. The laminate used in the Monsoon XT Gen. 2 Jacket is a breathable, triple-layer waterproof material that dependably keeps out the rain and wind while helping prevent overheating.
COMFORT IN THE LONG RUN.
Built-in air/pac® inserts in the shoulders serve two purposes. First, they provide additional lightweight but effective insulation to prevent the so-called “thermal bridge” effect, which can occur when there is insufficient insulation between your skin and the jacket fabric. This insufficiency can allow outside air chilled by pouring rain and howling wind to be conducted right through the jacket to your body. The second purpose served by the air/pac® inserts is to allow the weight of a backpack or plate carrier to be spread more evenly across your shoulders and upper back. The result is you’re made more comfortable.
OPENS TO LET EXCESS HEAT ESCAPE.
Long side-zippers can provide venting of the jacket’s interior in the event you start to feel too warm. Or you can use the zippers as a safe, easy way to access gear worn under the jacket (rather than unzip the full front and splay the garment wide, exposing everything beneath it to rain, wind, and cold).
UNRESTRICTED FIELD OF VIEW.
The first time you wear the Monsoon XT Gen.2 Tactical Rain Jacket, adjust its Hood/Harness® system to your head size. After that, the hood will flawlessly follow your head-and-neck movements, boosting your ability to enjoy unhindered vision despite the foulness of the weather. There’s no strapping involved with this system, so air is free to circulate in the space between your head and the hood—this helps you stay comfortably cool while also allowing unmuffled or undiminished sound to reach your ears.
HIGHLY WATER-REPELLENT POCKETS.
If you’re familiar with the way we typically configure pockets on our jackets and shirts, then you’ll be pleased to know we stayed true to our practices in configuring them for this one as well. The Monsoon Jacket features two upper-arm and two lower-arm pockets that afford sufficient space for your essential gear and allow you to constantly keep it all within hand’s reach.
